On the 8th August I flew to Waterford, Southern Ireland as guest of the Barrack Street Concert Band
On the 26th July the Bolsover Summer School commenced in Bolsover, Derbyshire
Between the 28th June and the 4th July Foden's hosted the annual Allan Withington Conducting School in Sandbach.
12 conductors from the Uk, Switzerland, Norway, Nigeria and Denmark spent a week in Sandbach where they worked with the Roberts Bakery Band in full rehearsals as well as an 10 piece concert on the Sandbach Cobbles. After this, Roberts Bakery handed over to Foden's who spent two nights rehearsing with the conductors concluding in a final concert at Sandbach School.
The conductors also worked with Mette Højen whose lectures concentrated on the role of the conductor in leadership and the psychology of musical communication. Allan Withington worked with the conductors on all aspects of conducting and programme planning.
On the 29th June I performed a solo concert with the Eagley Band from Bolton. I previously conducted the band quite a few years ago so it was nice to meet up with a number of players who are still in the band from all those years ago.
On the 22nd June I was invited to perform as a guest soloists with the Stockport Schools Intermediate Band, Stockport Schools Senior Band as well as Besses Boys
